
This course explores the fundamentals of the immune system and how the body defends itself against pathogens and diseases. Key topics include the cellular and molecular mechanisms of immunity, the role of antibodies, T-cells, and B-cells, as well as the innate and adaptive immune responses. Students will have an opportunity to examine immune system disorders, such as allergies, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiencies, how vaccines work, immunotherapy, and the immune system's role in cancer.
