Exploration and application of effective assessment practices and technology tools for measuring and documenting student learning and development.
This course offers the opportunity for an exploration and understanding of the application of effective assessment practices; for improving, measuring and documenting student learning. It allows for transformation in thinking and practice in the area of evaluation of student learning for the improvement of student learning. It challenges students to philosophically defend their perspective on assessment and evaluation of student learning in the context of Seventh-day Adventist theism.
You can look forward to theoretical and practical discussions of best practices in assessment. There will be opportunities for critical thinking, articulating ideas in formal writing assignments, informal class discussions, collaboration, encouragement, and networking. You will have opportunities to contribute to the course by suggesting readings and/or resources that have not been included but that could supplement the course themes. Moreover, you can take an active leadership role in discussions, presentations, and other activities of the course.
