This course addresses the theory and design of organizations. It prepares Ph.D. students to be competent in relevant deliberations and reflections related to group and organizational theories by thinking, and engaging in discussion. The course will assist them in constructing applicable documents that will illustrate his or her understanding of the individual and collective avenues of organizational members. Key concepts include management (fundamentals, culture, ethics, environment, decision-making, learning, conflict, and communication), planning (strategic management, systems thinking), organizing (theory, structure, design, technologies, and change) and monitoring (performance management, measurement, and effectiveness).
