Develops an understanding of the significance of church planting for Adventist pastors and leaders. Through laying a mission-shaped theology, recognizing its role in Adventist history, exploring current models, and instilling passion, students will gain competency for both the planting and facilitating of new churches.

This course positions congregational leadership for the purpose of equipping others in discipleship towards effective ministry and evangelism in local communities through church planting: A biblical and mission-focused paradigm regarding church planting and why it’s essential to the Adventist movement, a framework for visioning, strategic planning, and mission-shaped systems, assessment of student’s personal giftedness in the context of developing teams, understand the role of movement dynamics and support systems for church multiplication.
