A 3 credit course of lectures discussing knowledge, expertise and competencies of Human Resource Management (HRM). With in-depth studies on three core knowledge domains i.e. People, Workplace, Organization and respect fifteen HR functional areas such as HR strategies, talent acquisition, workforce management, risk management and others, this course emphasizes the necessary understanding and practicability of HRM that people who pursuit business or HR career should acquire. Students are also led to this acquisition by being explained and guided how to use eight behavioral competences such as leadership, consultation, critical evaluation and ethical practice, and one technical competence (HR expertise). Various instruction methods and tools will be used including class lectures, case studies, group discussion, personal, tests and writing exercises… Topics and cases are both from the context of the USA and local environment to enrich students’ thinking and application.
