This course deals with an overview of the dynamics found when working with groups, as well as the stages of group development, review of the most influential theories of group counseling and how they compare to each other, guidelines for multicultural groups, ethical and professional issues in group practice, group leadership, formation of groups, and the evolution of groups at the beginning and ending stages. This course is a combination of didactic and experiential components, including demonstrations, role-playing, lectures, group work, journaling, and class discussions.
