COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course helps students develop a global perspective in dealing with dynamic management issues in the international business environment. Among the subjects covered are the political and economic forces impacting international organizations, the role of culture and ethics and examples of successful international business organizations. Details on production, finance and marketing challenges will also be covered.

At the conclusion of this course, students should be able to:

1. Identify and understand the impact of globalization on international management – and the recent trends towards protectionism.

2. Contrast how different cultures may impact management practices in international organizations

3. Describe the role of the political, economic, legal, and technological environment in international management.

4. Demonstrate an understanding of the ethical and social responsibility of international organizations.

5. Identify various successful multi-national organizations in different countries – and understand what international management practices made a difference in their performance.

6. Understand the production, finance and marketing challenges in the international management environment.
